CueVue is a macOS desktop application developed by Smokey River Studio. It helps presenters, educators, and product teams manage live demonstrations, cue their content, and run polished on-screen experiences.
Minimal data collection: CueVue is a local-first application. Your presentations, scripts, and cue data are stored on your own device. We do not upload your content to our servers.
This policy describes the limited system permissions CueVue requires and the minimal information that may be transmitted during use.
In its current version, CueVue collects:
Crash reports do not include the content of your presentations, recordings, or personal files.
CueVue does not collect, transmit, or store:
CueVue requires macOS Screen Recording permission to capture and manage on-screen content for cued presentations and demonstrations.
What this permission does: Allows CueVue to read screen pixel data to power its cue detection and presentation management features.
What we do not do: Screen capture data is processed locally on your Mac. No screen content is transmitted to our servers or any third party.
You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. Revoking will disable CueVue's core functionality.
CueVue may request camera access for features that include webcam preview or presenter-mode overlays.
What this permission does: Provides a live camera feed within the CueVue interface for use during presentations.
What we do not do: Camera footage is not recorded, stored, or transmitted. The feed is rendered locally for the duration of your session only.
You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
CueVue may request microphone access for features such as voice-triggered cues or audio monitoring during live presentations.
What this permission does: Provides access to the microphone input stream for real-time use within CueVue's cue engine.
What we do not do: Audio is processed locally and is not recorded, stored, or transmitted to any external server.
You can revoke this permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.
CueVue stores the following data on your local device:
All locally stored data remains on your Mac and is subject to your device's own security and backup settings. CueVue does not sync this data to any cloud service.
You can clear CueVue's local data by uninstalling the application and removing its associated Application Support folder.
CueVue may transmit anonymized diagnostic information if you opt in. This includes:

We may update this Privacy Policy as CueVue adds new features. Material changes will be communicated through an in-app notice or update release notes. The updated policy will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date.
